Just another 2 cents, but I wear both nylons and tights and find that they last almost the same length of time. The main danger to any of my legwear is my cat, and he doesn't discriminate be- tween nylons and tights. I get usually at least 10 wearings out of my nylons, and I think it has to do with two things: 1. I always buy "light support" (or substitute your favorite brand phrase here). Besides feeling and fitting much better than the regular ones, they also last longer because they're made of stronger stuff. 2. I never wear them more than once without washing them. Sounds obvious, but I know people who don't. By the way, I wash them on the delicate cycle in the machine without any other special care, and hang them over wire hangers (not the plastic ones, which can catch) to dry. As an aside in response to the comment about smoothing skirts before sitting to "insulate the stockings," I smooth my skirt before I sit so it doesn't get all gross and wrinkled and feel bumpy under me when I'm sitting, especially in the car. Gosh, do I feel silly discussing nylons on the net! -- --Heather Emanuel {allegra, decvax!brunix, linus, ccice5} rayssd!hxe -------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't think my company *has* an opinion, so the ones in this article are obviously my own. -------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ain't life a brook...
