In other words, every one of them lived in fear of being attacked, and
shelled out money on a (fairly pathetic) object to improve her chances
in case she was.  Consider their feelings toward a lifetime of such
fear.  Are you using the term "amusing" advisedly?

Sorry for the grief, Mr. Triantafyllopoulos, but your message
symptomatizes an insensitive attitude, one which I don't think you
feel consciously.  (I'm probably the only one crude enough to remark
on it in public).

Naw, I just find it difficult to believe that *anyone* would try them..
Ever tried to get one for a date? for coffee? for dance? for _______?
What I mean is the degree of sheep-iness (i like the term) present. See
my previous posting on stereotypes. I have even MORE amusing stories,
free for the asking.
