[net.women] An Apology

srt@ucla-cs.UUCP (06/11/85)

This is to apologize for my recent offensive posting to this newsgroup. It
has been (forcibly) brought to my attention that I may have inadvertantly
offended some of the readers of this newsgroup. If so, I apologize, but in
my own defense I would like to point out that I did not cross-post the
original article; Sophie Quigley did.

In the future, remember that if you cross-post an offensive article to
net.flame, you are likely to get an offensive article back.

I beg your pardon! I don't know why you decided to pick on me out of all
the people who participated in this whole silly discussion, but I certainly
was neither the originator of the discussion nor the originator of the
cross-posting, who happened to be the same person, someone complaining
about women giftwrapping their sanitary napkins with toilet paper.
My cross-posting as a response to the original cross-posting was very
appropriate then. The discussion was still civilised at that point.
