Hell, don't fight over this stuff. Neither one of you have ever worn the other's shoes. A lot can be said for trust, and that stuff doesn't develop overnight. I have been hurt a few times trying to be nice to women but, what the hell, I ain't made o' glass. I'll get over it. Meanwhile, I still try to be nice. It pays off once in a while. Fer instance: I made it back to my apartment complex one night, just in time to see two ladies discussing something beside a car with a flat tire. I parked the truck and walked over and found out they were trying to figure the jack out. (It was no wonder to me why. They built the damned thing "sideways" and the ladies {me too} were used to the regular bumper type jack.) We figured it out and I helped change the tire. The lady who owned the car tried to get me to take some money but, I told her it was a pleasure to work on something broken that wasn't a computer for a change. Next fiasco: I had trouble going to sleep on night. (My in- somnia only works when I don't want it to.) I decided to go drink a cup of "no-lead" coffee down to the local all nighter. I came back toward home and drove past a women sitting in the middle of the street. ??????????? What the ----??? Since I wasn't far from home I went and picked up "the dog" (barks over here and bites over there.) and checked her out. Yeh, I did get the gun, damnit, I didn't know where her boyfriend was.. Momma didn't raise no fools. I got her in the truck but all I could get out of her was her first name and that she thought I was stupid, then she passed out. I drove back by my apartment and got a pillow and blanket and tucked her in in the truck. I also called the law. I told the police she was so drunk she couldn't find her butt with both hands searchin'. They had a heck of a time waking her up. So, they let her sleep a while and tried again later. They finally walked her sober enough to sit in the squad long enough to get her home. The police said she got "like that" all the time. Maybe I was stupid, if she doesn't get run over her liver will go to hell. Maybe I did waist my time. Maybe I shoulda left her there..... NNNAAAAAWWWWW. Some's good, some's bad. I try to be nice anyhow. Not really longing for the good ol' days, T. R. Frye
