[net.women] How Depressing!

wall@fortune.UUCP (Jim Wall) (08/06/85)

There is absolutely nothing worse than a Monday, when you
try to wade through the weekends netnews. After inordinate
amounts of net.singles and net.women, I am totally depressed.
To put it mildly this is not a normal condition for me. So, if
it affects me it must get to others as well. So just to try and
balance the scales...

I'm married, but am very happy at being married. I've never
raped anyone. I respect all women, and my wife even more. She
is a mechanical engineer, very independant, and neither of us
believe in NOW. I don't think she has problems with PMS. We haven't
tried MACE yet, maybe someday. She took Karate for rape prevention,
but went back to swimming, because it was more fun. Neither one of
us wants video cameras on every street corner, but I think it is a
tax rate issue and not a '1984' issue.

I guess we just don't relate to the typical problems on the net.
I wish I could provide some help, for those that want it. At least I
feel better now. There are good, happy, and satisfied people out there,
some even are on the net. But it is easy to forget that based on what
is posted.

Your upbeat, "I'm OK -- You're OK" article was just the help I needed!
I suppose your sentiments are going to vanish quickly from the discs -- I
think people will find contentedness a little too boring to discuss.
