You are all cordially invited to a net party, to be held in New York, designed to coincide with the end of the UnixExpo on September 20th. The party will be held in a local restaurant, cash bar, and the restaurant will be determined by the number of people who opt to come. I expect to take over the entire restaurant, and the one I have in mind has ample space for a dance floor, and a nice outside patio. Consider this as the opportunity of a lifetime: you get to meet the people that you've been fond of through the net, as well as those you'd love to flame in person. I, for one, will be wearing my flame-resistant body-armor. :-) I've set up a mailing list for those that are interesting in coming, so send me mail with your interest, and be included! There will be no guars killed for the party, wombats must check their weapons at the door, and you should plan on bringing the amount of duct tape that you consider needed. Please leave your extra bright headlights at home. We're experiencing a little trouble with incoming mail on this machine, so if your mail gets bounced, or you don't get a reply from me, feel free to call me (212)-889-6431 for some of the Details. Hope to hear from you.....even those that I flame! -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Ross M. NetParty....... Be there or be square! The NetParty (which you are all cordially invited to!) will be held on September 20th, at a restaurant named "Bucks County". This is located at 607 2nd Avenue, which is between 33rd and 34th Street. For you out-of-town types, you can get there easiest by Yellow-Limo (taxi!) or by the IRT # 6, getting off at 33rd Street and Park Avenue, then walking two blocks east. (From Port Authority, take the shuttle to Grand Central, then take the IRT #6 downtown. Be advised: the number 4 is an express!! Don't take it) (Also (for you out-of-towners) please feel reassured about the area: it is safe at all hours of day and night. Rents not too bad, either, in case you *really* like the neighborhood! :-) Telephone lines are full of line noise, I'm sad to s}i}i{ay!) The crosstown bus on 34th Street can get you there if you get off at 34th Street and then walk south for about 1/2 block.(Easiest way from Penn Station) The 2nd avenue bus runs downtown, get off just south of 34th Street and you're there. Finally, there is a 1st Ave and 3rd Ave bus that runs uptown, and I figure that if you can use nroff, then you can figure it out from there! The restaurant and bar will be a cash-bar/pay-as-you-go kind of deal. There should be enough room for a dance floor, unless more than the 30-50 people that indicate they're coming actually show up! In this regard, it would be nice if you let me know if you plan to come, so we don't give the owner a heart attack if the entire net shows up. Timeinc goes off the air shortly, so you can mail to me at: allegra!phri!greenber. The wombat-check room is right near the duct tape dispensor, and the flame-retardant suits can be rented in the coat-&-weapons checkroom. Please be advised: those discussing genderless language will be forcibly evicted, as will those discussing Color Analysis (thought they should wear their best colors!). :-) Hoping to see you there (rembemer to mail to me,if you can)!! -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Ross M.
