I never thought there was anything wrong with stag parties or showers. For those who want to participate in either, it is a good chance for her to have one last party with the girls and him to have a last party with the boys (as single people). 'Course that's not to say that the newly married couple can't still go out with these same friends after the wedding but, then the couple will be scarce for a while 'til sometime after the honeymoon(8-).
