There is a new book out in paperback (with a ghastly pink cover feature the Winged Victory of Samothrace) called "Goddesses in Everywoman" by Jean Shinoda Bolen, MD. Bolen is a Jungian analyst who got fed up with the lack of suitable, workable archetypes in tradition (male-oriented) psychoanalysis and has devised a system of her own based on the goddesses of traditional Greek mythology. The book is interesting reading, though sometimes it veers too much toward pop psychology. It should be read by both men and women - women will recognize aspects of themselves, and men will surely recognize women that they know (and maybe get some insight into why they act as they do). -- jcpatilla
