How Many Men Are Rapists?_________________________________________ > Suppose you knew that out of ten cars on a lot one was rigged up > with a bomb wired to the ignition (and you could not open up the > hood). . . . would you drive or walk? . . . At a rough guess, > one woman in 10 has been raped. It's somewhere between one in three and one in four. But it is not logical to conclude from this that one man in three (or one in four) is a rapist. Studies of convicted and incarcerated rapists (probably not a representative sample, but it's the best we can do) indicate that these men rape a large number of victims. The average number of victims per rapist turned out to be several hundred. I myself have a hard time believing that these rapists can recall so many offenses, but that's what the studies say! I don't have my references with me, but I know the studies were done by Nicholas Groth. <_Jym_> :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::::' :: `:::: Jym Dyer ::::' :: `:::: ::' :: `:: Dracut, Massachusetts ::' :: `:: :: :: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :: :: :: .::::. :: DYER%VAXUUM.DEC@DECWRL.ARPA :: .::::. :: ::..:' :: `:..:: {allegra|decvax|ihnp4|ucbvax} ::..:' :: `:..:: ::::. :: .:::: decwrl!dec-rhea!dec-vaxuum!dyer ::::' :: `:::: ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Is this for real? Does anyone have statistics? Please give your sources!
