Magazine, 20 January 1986, p. 67.
     
                     PUBLIC NOTICE
     
                    IMPORTANT NOTICE
     
                     REGARDING THE
     
              DALKON SHIELD INTRAUTERINE
            BIRTH CONTROL DEVICE (IUD) AND
          A. H. ROBINS COMPANY, INCORPORATED
     
On August 21, 1985, A. H. Robins Company, Incorporated, the maker
of the Dalkon Shield, filed a case under Chapter 11 of the United
States Bankruptcy Code.
     
If you: (a) may have been injured because you used the Dalkon Shield; or
        (b) may have used the Dalkon Shield but have not as yet
              experienced an injury; or
        (c) may have been injured because of another person's use of
              the Dalkon Shield
     
and if you wish to assert a claim against the A. H. Robins Company,
Incorporated, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern
District of Virginia must receive your claim in writing at the
Clerk's office or at the address below on or before April 30, 1986,
or you will lose your right to make a claim.  Receipt of a simple
statement containing your full name and complete mailing address
and the fact that you are making a Dalkon Shield claim will register
your claim.

Mail your claim promptly.  Each claimant is required to file a
separate claim.  You do not need a lawyer to file a claim.
     
After your claim is registered, you will be sent a questionnaire
with additional instructions.  You must complete this questionnaire
and return it or your claim may be disallowed.  Claimants residing
in the United States must return the questionnaire by June 30, 1986.
Claimants residing outside the United States must return the
questionnaire by July 30, 1986.
     
If you have already filed a claim with the United States Bankruptcy Court
for the Eastern District of Virginia, do not file a second claim as your
claim is already registered.  You also will be sent a formal questionnaire
with additional instructions with which you must comply.
