[net.women] apologies

pwb@fritz.UUCP (Phil Bonesteele) (07/12/85)

My apologies to the readers of net.women for exposing them to a reply
on "To Hell With Diplomacy". I temporarily (hopefully) lost my wits
and forgot to edit the Newsgroups when I replied to the original
article. I promise to mend my ways in the future...

"Throughout this protracted and disgraceful assault on American
womanhood the clergy baptized each new insult and act of injustice
in the name of the Christian religion, and uniformly asked God's
blessing on proceedings that would have put to shame an assembly of
Hottentots."

I believe that I owe the net an apology. On Monday and Tuesday of this
week, I posted some particularly nasty personal attacks aimed at certain
individuals. My language and tone were inexcusable.

I can only offer by way of explanation that I was extremely exhausted,
have had some 14 hours sleep in the preceding 72 hours, and having drive
over 1200 miles during that time. When I become this exhausted, my reality
filters fail me.

Thus: I apologize for my ill behaviour. I will make every attempt in
future to control my language, and to avoid personal attacks. I stand by
*WHAT* I said, but recognize my failure to express myself in a more civilized
and appropriate manner was in poor taste.

   Thank you.
