Hi there! My personal thanks to Trudy Leonhardt for the superb party she put together; my thanks to all the great people who showed up. Pooh, here's a great big hug -- uUUumMMmmppPPHHHh! Ooblick, you're swell! You get a hug too. Rich (Rosen!), you're a wild guy. Wish you'd take a swing at some of our more pervasive social institutions; the towel of Turneep doesn't need you. Oh, and we missed the chance to tie you (upside down) to the Railroad tracks! Hope you enjoyed the cheeseburger! (You probably don't want a hug.) Thanks to Griz, the cook, cleanup, and just about everything else, to Ed Horch, audio consultant, and to Trudy's understanding housemates. For the not involved, the guest list ran to somewhere between 60 and 90 -- we lost count, and not everyone signed in. The soup came out real well ;^) and we didn't get busted. (Neither did my speakers ... a small miracle!) I'm exhausted, and I'm going to bed. Let's do this again sometime! As Griz would say, love ya' all. -- from Mole End Mark Terribile (scrape .. dig ) mtx5b!mat (Please mail to mtx5b!mat, NOT mtx5a! mat, or to mtx5a!mtx5b!mat) (mtx5b!mole-end!mat will also reach me) ,.. .,, ,,, ..,***_*.

Well, now that Mark's started the subject line, I might as well add my thanks to Trudy (actually her evil twin, as Trudy never made the party). I really enjoyed meeting everyone, including Rich Rosen, who I met 13 times. The only problems were that Pooh left early, and a lot of people arrived late (I mean, how are we supposed to read your name tags in the dark? Even if they did all say Rich Rosen). Oh, and poor Ed Horch never did get Channel 4 to show up. :-) Thanks also to ol' Griz and Laura Watson for (seemingly, at least) doing all the cooking. And to whoever thought to include the Foster's in the last beer run. A few highlights: A demonstration of Pooh and Mikki's "technique", complete with "recruiting" sign. (I could read, and was therefore disqualified from consideration. Sigh.) Was it really necessary to take those guys' clothes off to fit them into the trunk? I still didn't get to see Pooh's "Kik-Mi-Do" kata... Kee serenely spending at least a half hour disecting and reassembling an Uzi water gun. And not a single attack hit him in all that time--amazing. Why can't we have cease fires like that in the rest of the world? Never DID get that sucker working right, though. Laura with a Beer Shampoo--egg next, right? She also revealed she was familiar with the concept of head, although I refuse to disclose in what context. Never ONCE saw Matt Crawford wearing anything that wasn't soaking wet. And I warned Mel that if she picked up a water gun, she was just going to make herself a target. She didn't listen. (Unless she WANTED to be a target :-)) Caught in the crossfire... Laura also mentioned to me how they tried cutting the (foot-high) grass for the party. She failed to explain how we were supposed to play volleyball on a hill. Or what they did with the grass after they "harvested" it. And Mikki, I think you may attract more prospects if you spell the sign "Bellcore Rekrooting" so they can at least pronounce it. And I wish you'd learn to spell your own name correctly, fercrissakes... ========================================= "How is this place run? Is it an anarchy?" "No, I wouldn't say so--it's not that well organized." Scott J. Berry ihnp4!hou2g!scott Oh well, *I* had a good time, so the hell with the rest of ya :-)

Well, add me to the list of people who wish to thank Trudy for the great party. (Trudy, I tried to call you to say so personally, but you were out.) For me I guess the greatest part was just getting to meet some of you wonderful people- Pooh, Mikki, Ambar, Trudy, Scott, Kee, Griz, Laura, Ken, Rich... and all the rest. >A few highlights: > >Kee serenely spending at least a half hour disecting and reassembling >an Uzi water gun. My clone seconds that. I third that. Motion carried. :-) [Mark mentions specific people. More seconds and thirds.] Let's not forget Matt Crawford and his *ingenious* direction signs that a) got everybody there that was supposed to be and b) confused the hell out of any random passers-by! >The soup came out >real well ;^) and we didn't get busted. (Neither did my speakers ... a >small miracle!) Nor your colored lights - a bigger miracle! Also, thanks loads to all who participated in Sunday's -ahem- modified Twister game. Please, folks, there is no need to distribute this stuff world-wide. I'm sure it was a very nice party, and I wish I could have gone, but it's a long walk from LA. Please don't waste so much of the Net's resources on local chit-chat! Thanks. -Ed Hall decvax!randvax!edhall

All this talk about the eastern fun is just making the rest of the net feel wistful. My evil incarnate twin wanted to come to the party, too. I know he really would have loved to burst out of somebody's chest at the party, but it's so hard to drive with those 8 spindly legs...and he goes through a small fortune in silicone brake fluid just lurking about my ethernet, let alone traveling to the east coast! Seriously, we're glad you had a good party, just jealous. -Ceferino "Just another gerbil on the wheel of love" Cordero "What opinion? We were just practicing avoiding opinions entirely!"
