There is a problem here... I think that complexity is not the way to go, but I'm no expert. If we were to make a machine that by its complexity achieved conciousness, how would we recognise this? Lacking any common experience or needs, the consious electronic computer would not think in the same way that we do. I don't dabble in AI much, but I watch with interest.
