RESEARCH ASSOCIATE/PROGRAMMER
Applications are invited for a post of Research Associate/Programmer,
to join a project, led by Dr Jim Howe and funded by the Science and
Engineering Research Council, which is concerned with the
interpretation of sonar data in a 3-D marine environment. Candidates,
who should have a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related
discipline, should be conversant with the UNIX programming environment
and fluent in the C language. The work involves programming
applications of statistical estimation, 3-D motion representation, and
rule-based inference; experience in one or more of these areas would
be an advantage.
The post is tenable for three years, starting 1 October 1983, on the
salary scale 6310 - 7190 pounds sterling.
