Can anyone give me the name and author of a basic AI manual.I recently received the Handbook of Artificial Intelligence and found it a bit too complicated.Is there anything simple and relatively easy to comprehend, or will I have to keep on reading through this mess I've got until I understand it??! Responces via this newsgroup would be greatly appreciated, but please respond quickly before my eyes fall out of my head.

I'd try Artificial Intelligence by Elaine Rich (McGraw-Hill). It's easy
reading, not too technical but gives a good overview to the novice.
