[net.ai] Help on Radiography Discussion

debl@vaxine.UUCP (Obscure Optician) (03/26/84)

I have been told that a discussion of expert systems to read radiographs
occured on the net recently. Any information or references from this
discussion would be appreciated. Thank you.

We have been working on image analysis here at Henry Ford Hospital.
Our work covers four main areas. First, we have done a considerable
amount of work on xeromammograms, searching for lesions and
then classifying them. Second, we are now using AI
production techniques to interact with analysis of CT scans of
the head. Third, we have developed a method for DSA of
the breast (DSAB) and are doing picture processing with those
images. Finally, we have set up a general image processing
program that deals both with DSA and MR.

I know there are others in radiology who are doing the same,
as mentioned in the first article, and I would also be
curious to see what is happening on the net.
