[net.ai] Late Delivery

Laws@SRI-AI.ARPA (06/12/84)

From: Ken Laws <Laws@SRI-AI.ARPA>

This issue and the next two have been delayed by a combination of
operator error and poorly-designed software. (I left a closing
quote out of an address in the distribution list; the mailer
then failed to expand the list and yet gave no indication of the
failure.) My apologies for the delay.

This message will, however, provide an interesting challenge to the
individuals who are studying automated retrieval of information from
the AIList archive. Will the digest date or the message date prevail?
Will the logical inconsistency cause computers across the country to
blow their fuses? Will this self-referential message create a
wormhole in space-time? Has the futility of temporal reasoning
finally been demonstrated? Tune in next time ...
