[net.ai] Rogue Playing Programs?

clark@sdcsla.UUCP (Clark Quinn) (12/02/84)

I suspect this question has been asked before, but I must ask again,
regardless. Does anyone know of, has anyone worked on, is anyone working
on a Rogue Playing Program? I have a copy of the paper on the Rog-O-Matic
program that Michael Mauldin, Guy Jacobsen, Andrew Appel and Leonard Hamey
made and wrote about, but I was wondering if anyone else has worked on this.

The reason for this request is that I need a project for a class I am taking,
and I thought that this would be an interesting one (so did my professor). I
don't want to copy anyone's work, I am merely curious about what approaches
others have used. This program is going to be written in LISP, since that is
the language the class is using, so I'm sure it will be slow, but that is
not a problem.

I would appreciate any information anyone may provide for me. Please respond
by net mail (or other means than posting) so as not to cloud these groups.

Thanks, -- Clark
