["Who invited those Daleks?"] I see that Bruce Nevin of B.B.&N. has submitted a long answer to the advocates of the "cognitive dissonance" theory of emotion. He doesn't go into the nature of emotion, but he dispels some of the dissonants' naive notions. In the same issue Carter publicly withdraws from the discussion, remarking ironically that "ideas are dangerous." I would add: 1. Ideas for hurting people are dangerous to those who advance them. 2.
