Essential LISP in C. ??? I have been programming in lisp (unix env) for 2 years now. The Franz environment is good but the programs run too slow (even after compiliation). For this reason none of my big programs are really useable. Search programs are very very slow . As Franz lisp is already written in C , it may be possible to call the Lisp functions directly in C and write programs which do not need the interpreter or debugger. Call it C-lisp or E-lisp (essential lisp). Has anybody tried this? Does anybody have any comments? Navin chandra dchandra@mit-charon (arpanet) chandra@uiucuxc@uiucdcs (CSnet)
