I work in the VAX LISP development group at DEC. Just ran Sobek's benchmark on a VAXstation II using the same software as at IJCAI. I got a compiled time of 1.67 without declarations, .74 with declarations. I'm not sure where he got his times. - Paul Anagnostopoulos

What differences are there (if any) between the machines, and would they account for the difference in time? -- Chan Benson {ihnp4 | hplabs}!hpfcla!chan Hewlett-Packard Company Fort Collins, CO (303) 226-3800 x3892 As usual, HP has nothing to do with what I say here.
