There IS -- as we all know by now from net.women -- a protocol for creation of new newsgroups, based on the criterion of sufficient general interest. Personally, I feel there are enough college students using the net to warrent such a group, though many others on USENET are probably concerned about some of the issues that will doubtless be discussed here, and I hope they will read and contribute. HOWEVER...with regard to Willis Johnson's item mentioning "the peace movement, anti-nuke, and other issues of concern to college students..." I would admonish everyone to remember that there ARE college students -- yes, even activists of a sort -- who are pro-nuke and conservative in their political views. I would not like to see such people excluded (explicitly or, more importantly, implicitly) from this group -- if it is to survive, let's try to keep it an OPEN forum.
