I can't believe a large University would really make people run around all over campus. ugh. On vocation vs. education, I thought I was coming here for an education. I went into engineering because it sounded the most interesting, not even realizing how salable engineering degrees were becoming. But, my department (Aero & Astro Eng.) requires 134 hours for a bachelors degree (more than any other dept. in engineering), and only about 6 of those hours are purely elective. I had an advisor who just gave me funny looks when I wanted to sign up for linguistics classes over and above the number required for the social sciences requirement. His idea was just take two sociology classes ("easy A's") and try and graduate earlier and forget about taking all these extraneous courses. It took a while to convince I really wanted to take random classes. Wombat ihnp4!uiucdcs!uicsl!wombat
