Lineater hungry? CRASHING THE MAJOR Hello, I am entering(transfer) Warren College (Applied Computer Sci. major, minors: Cognitive Sci., Linguistics) for the '85 Winter quarter. I hope that someone, either a current student or alumnus, can direct me to a contact in the EECS office to solve the following problem: EECS Dept. accepts applicants(pre-engineering) to the major annually, in the Fall, only after all lower div. requirements are completed. In the upcoming terms(W,S,Su) I will have completed all but the final Math course(2EA). Thus, my chances of acceptance into the EECS program seem to weigh heavily on my persistence and contacts. REQUEST: Contacts and advice on petitioning would be greatly appreciated. A contact might be a faculty member, student, or bureaucrat, at UCSD. OPTIONS: I have at least two options now. 1. Enter UCSD, as planned, and take my chances. 2. Stay in Cal State DH, emulating UCSD's program, and reapply with the completed sequence. Here, I could take a few U.D. C.S. classes in the meantime, and maybe increase my chances of being accepted directly into the EECS program(UCSD.) Please send responses VIA MAIL. Do NOT post to the net. Thanks. Regards, Jim Jensen
