I have worn hard lenses, soft lenses, glasses, and nothing at all (which makes me cold). Anyway, hard lenses were too nasty on my eye. My doctor let me trade them in for soft ones (although he tried to rip me off by making me pay for the whole cost, but I had him reread our contract). The soft ones were great, but taking care of them each nite wasn't. After a hard nite of partying, I would wake up and notice that everything was clear. Whoops! Forgot to take them off. I would ten give my hands a rest for a day ro they would be sore. Since I have a detached retina, my new doctor advised me against the 2 week lenses since with one good eye, if the 2 week lenses caused cornea ulcers (which they rarely tend to do), I would be screwed out of my vision. He said the less time ANY foreign object is in your eyes, the better. This is a big consideration for me -- less for you people with healthy eyes.
