[net.med] one good eye

smk (01/23/83)

I would like to find out from others how they deal with
only having one eye. I have both of mine, but only one works.
(Specifically, I'd like to hear from those with retinal surgery.)
Most of the time, depth perception is not a problem, because
from sizes and past knowledge, I know how things are supposed to
be. However, I can't play many sports. Baseball is a joke, because
by the time I size the ball and judge its speed, I miss the play.
Football is easier. Tennis is out, because the sky light and the
ball are too close in appearance for me to judge the ball
quickly.
Volleyball is an easy game to deal with. I recently
found that dark racquetballs against a while court make the
game easy to play.
Every once in awhile, I misjudge where things are and spill something
or do something that looks like I am clumsy. I don't mind
that image (not too many people know about my <problem>) of me,
but do others of you with 1 good eye have that problem?

(See ya <ha ha> at UNICOM.)
