Wurtman is definitely competent, although perhaps in the same way that Linus (Vitamen C) Pauling is. Wurtman has spent most of his professional carrer studying the biochemical effects of foods and their constituents with a particular emphasis on the neurotransmitters. Unfortunately some of his results have a "Psychology Today" ring to them. For my part I respect his work, and will personally not drink any of the stuff until somebody checks it out. MIT is full of distressingly competant people. Wurtman is no fool, and he must know that he is risking his neck on this one and would not do that without good cause. There is some chance he is actually being a "good citizen" and taking some professional risk to try avoid a possible health hazzard. Softdrinks do tendf to be consumed with high carbohydrate foods .... ----GaryFostel----
