[net.med] Health Magazines

liz@umcp-cs.UUCP (12/03/83)

Do any of you read health magazines? What magazine(s) would you
recomend? I've been thinking about subscibing to one, but I don't
know where to start and what I've looked at seem kind of flakey.

Send mail to me; if there's enough interest, I'll post a summary
to the net.

"Prevention" is a good health magazine. I had subscribed to it for about
three years. It is geared toward "preventive medicine" versus running
to the doctor for every ache and pain. I believe the magazine is a big
advocate of vitamins and does an article on a different vitamin in every
issue. Health problems are analyzed also, with possible causes and remedies.
There is also a "Mailbag" section where people write in telling about their
health problems and what they did to remedy the situation. That section was
particularly helpful to me. Overall I believe this is a good magazine and
worth looking into.
