I have followed a low salt diet for years, believing that there was plenty of sodium in my diverse diet. I never salt anything and find I enjoy the taste better. After feeling dizzy off and on for two months, I had my blood pressure checked only to find it was low (for me; not dangerously low). My internist recommended increasing my salt intake. (She did not know that I have a low salt diet.) If I still find myself getting dizzy, she'll recommend a few tests to get at the cause. So, what's the scoop? What are typical causes of low blood pressure? When is salt (NaCl) not the culprit it's made out to be? Patricia Collins hplabs

...and speaking of salt and blood pressure regulation, I hear that studies are now indicating that it's the chlorine rather than the sodium that causes problems. Potassium chloride users take note.
