The woes of trying to keep fit have once again come my way. I have a bad eye infection that does not seem to want to leave (of course I have persistently been swimming with it). I have been taking an antibiotic eye drop called Maxitrol for almost3 weeks, and cannot use my contacts. I have decided to stop the swimming for a while. My eye doctor said if it doesnt clear soon (like 2 more days) that I need to take a steroid eye drop. I have heard so many bad things about steroids, and I am scared to death of taking this new drop. (He was not thrilled about perscribing it either). Has anyone had any experience with this type of eye drop? (I think it is called Inflammes). Any better suggestions for how to swim in a filthly (but only one around) pool, and NOT get eye infections (all goggles leak). Thanks Marianne Sarno Eagan AT&T Information Systems Lincroft, NJ
