----------- I just saw an ad for a new reducing aid. The claim is that thin people have more of a 'naturally occuring substance' called CCK in their body than fat people, and that by taking CCK, appetite gets suppressed, resulting in weight loss. I never before heard of CCK, and wonder if anyone has some data on that stuff. Bill Pfeifer {ucbvax,decvax,ihnp4,allegra,uw-beaver,hplabs} !tektronix!tekmdp!billp

I just heard of CCK on the news last night. The concensus from the doctors questioned was that CCK has no proven suppressant properties (except in some isolated studies where it was directly injected into brains). They also said that if it did have such properties, then using it could be dangerous; if it doesn't, then it is just another ineffective diet aid. bcase
