For individuals with addictions: AA - Alcoholics Anonymous GA - Gamblers Anonymous NA - Narcotics Anonymous OA - Overeaters Anonymous SA - Sexaholics Anonymous For those who have been/are in some sort of relationship with persons who are addicted: AlAnon - Spouses and others involved with alcoholics OAnon - Spouses and others involed with compulsive overeating ACA - Adult Children of Alcoholics More toward the mental health business: Recovery, Inc. EHA - Emotional Health Anonymous The above is not intended to be exhaustive. The LA Times today (10/9/84) had an article about Adult Children of Alcoholics and how the problems of children of alcoholics did not magically disappear at age 18. Particularly distressing was how little a psychiatrist seemed to know. If she had attended some AA and ACA and AlAnon meetings, perhaps her education would have been substantially improved.
