I would appreciate any information about Hodgkin's disease - symptoms, progression. Is it usually fatal? If so, how long do you usually live after it is diagnosed? How bad does it get? Thanks! > I would appreciate any information about Hodgkin's disease - symptoms,
I am only posting this to correct any mis-apprehensions.
--Hodgkin's disease can be successfully treated and cured, but since
this is a relatively new development, it is better not to rely on
sources of information that are more than 10-15 years old.
----Information on Hodgkin's Disease in the form of very readable pamphlets is
is available from the NCI (National Cancer Institute).
MD's and health centers usually stock these, but you can call your
local cancer center, too.
----There is also an 800 cancer information phone number.
--Symptoms, or lack thereof, can vary. Diagnosis requires a
physician.
--Many support groups exist for people under-going treatment, and
afterwards.
--Probably, the best source of information to questions of a specialized
nature comes from Stanford Univiersity in California.
Don't wonder and worry! Use the above resources. --Michelle
