************************************ I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this question but I'll go ahead and ask anyway. I'm considering making applications to medical school. I have all the basic information I need but require some help with the fine points. First let me explain that I already possess a MSEE and have been working in the electronics field for 6 years. Right now I'm attending a local community college at night to pick up the biology and organic chemistry I need for most med schools admission. I therefore have no pre-med advisor to help me out. Now to the questions: 1) Concerning the MCAT, I have the opportunity to take the test this spring. I probably would not be completely prepared for it but I would still do OK, I think. I also have the option of taking the test in the fall. My question is, if I take the test in the spring and retake it in the fall (to improve the score presumably) am I guaranteed that the most current scores would be forwarded to the med schools in time for them to make an informed decision about my application? I am also concerned that it might look "bad" if I had taken the test twice. The only reason I would take it in the spring by the way is to guarantee that I have some score on file in case I can't take the test in the fall (illness maybe). 2) Anybody have any idea what my chances are? I realize my full academic and personal history are needed by the med schools for their decision, but what I'm interested in is how older (28) applicants from other disciplines, with a present career fare in the application process. 3) Any tips, warnings or other information would be greatly appreciated. If you care to answer don't use the 'reply' mode. Send mail to the address listed below. Thanks in advance. ihnp4!tellab1!tellab2!tellab3!rmd ******************************
