Ibuprofen does not cause an increase in bleeding time, and does not cause tinnitus. Both are direct side-effects of aspirin which ibuprofen does not share. However, it's been found that almost any anti-inflammatory agent which works through inhibition of prostglandin synthesis may irritate the stomach, especially if taken in large doses over a long period of time. Ibuprofen may have a smaller immediate irritant effect on the stomach than aspirin. People with a history of ulcers should contact their doctor before taking ibuprofen. -- /Steve Dyer {decvax,linus,ima,ihnp4}!bbncca!sdyer sdyer@bbnccv.ARPA
