After I left my doctor's office, I went to the local health sore, did some quick reading and started the following regime. 1 gm of C and 400 IU's of complex E with each meal + 1 geriatric multi-vit in the morning + 1 super-b-complex either in the morning or at bedtime. In 4 days, the pain started to go away and in 7 days, the blisters are all drying up and although I still have a little pain and itching, it is nothing and can be ignored. I also found that mild exercise did help even when I felt the worst. ( We have a 50 lb dog that needs a daily long walk) I plan to keep this vitamin therapy going for several months since I hear shingles can have long term effects. However, I was able to do a normal day's work all the time. Thanks to everyone who sent me mail. I got everything from Vit. C to tough luck. If there are any MD's out there, there is an article in the March 8, 85 AMA Journal on a new 'wonder' drug for shingles but I don't know where to get that journal to look it up. I'm working on it though.
