It is possible that you may be suffering from Meniere's disease. This is a disorder of the labyrinth of the inner ear, that results in dizziness. Doctors are not sure of the cause of this disease, but it is believed that increased fluid retention by the inner ear may be the cause. Both my father and my brother-in-law have been diagnosed as having Meniere's disease. The onset of the disease was very sudden for both of them. My father says he has milder attacks since he's used Dristan during the onset of his dizziness. Perhaps the Dristan helps relieve the fluid imbalance. He has also been given the option of an operation that may or may not cure the problem. He has opted to live with it for now. I suggest you ask a physician if he could rule out Meniere's Disease.
