Does anyone have any explanations as to why my hands have a rather noticeable orange color? I do not eat a lot of carrots, nor do I take high vitamin A doses. Last year while on my honeymoon in Hawaii, I went to an eye doctor for an eye infection, but when the doctor there asked me to stick out my tongue I KNEW something was odd. He said my eyes had a funny yellowish color, and he thought maybe I had jaundice, and recommended I get tested when I got home. The tests showed that I did NOT have jaundice, and I feel very good (except for occasional low-grade fevers approx 99.6 or so). It thought maybe my coloring is similar to my parents', but their hands look white next to mine. My mother had an interesting theory that maybe my hands are so orange because of the great deal of exposure I have to chlorine water (I swim atleast 15 miles/week) and pounding my hands into the water. However, no other part of my body is quite so orange. Could there be any other reasons for this? Thanks Marianne Eagan ihnp4!druxp!eagan
