[net.med] Holistic logic -- harmful? yes!

The old argument from authority raises its ugly head after 2500 years,
though one might argue about Mr. Stanions' definition of "many" and
"intelligent."

It's important to remember that nutrition and biochemistry are NOT social
sciences, where a diversity of opinion about basic mechanisms is an
accepted fact of life and there is no wrong or right.  Nutrition,
biochemistry and yes, even medicine, are all grounded in scientific
materialism, just like physics and chemistry, and they all follow the same
rules: just because 50,000 holistic health practitioners say that something
is harmful, in the absence of scientific evidence, there is no reason to
accept it as fact.  And, you see, there is no prejudice here: the wonderful
thing about science is that the same rigor is demanded of everyone.
