Fellow Scuba Divers (and medical people):
I need information on PORTABLE Oxygen systems for use by untrained
personel (like lowly Scuba instructers and divemasters :-) that is
refillable, reliable, and reasonablely cheap. I need it to meet
equipment requirments for training exercises (check-out dives) and
for safty's sake. Most dive shops I know of DO NOT supply their
diving staff with this kind of equipment.
If any one out there has any information and any contacts that might
help, I would appreciate the help.
I also want to add that this equipment is for EMERGENCY USE ONLY!!!!
It will not (and should not) be used for diving purposes.
Thanks
Rich Schiraldi

It is a bad idea to administer oxygen without training. The patient is
likely to die or suffer brain damage. Go back and capitalize "likely."
The requisite minimal training is provided in an American Red Cross
First Responder course, essentially a 21-hour standard first aid course,
plus about 10 hours of oxygen therapy, insulin shock/diabetic coma
treatment, a few other subjects. I assume ANY divemaster or scuba
instructor should know that much. It don't cost hardly nuthin. Call
your local chapter. This announcement not paid for by anybody...
