I saw a TV news story recently which said that apple growers use a chemical that I believe they called apple-on. The chemical delays apples falling off trees so that they stay on longer to grow larger and riper. The story said that one of the ingredients is a suspected carcinogen and that there are concerns over possible health risks from apple consumption over several years. Can anyone provide any details about this substance and its risks, or a pointer to more detailed information? David Grooms Bell Communications Research {ihnp4,bellcore,pyuxww}!u1100a!dbg
