[net.med] Dentists, Fillings, Mercury, and reputable MD's.

Hmmm, just a quick note. Today at lunch I was listening to the
local 'news/talk radio' station. They have a medical program
with a reasonably mainstream MD (Dr. Dean Edel (sp?)). He is *NOT*
a 'wholistic' MD nor is he an 'AMA knows best' type either.
(This is the establish some credibility part ...)

Well, what was I surprised to hear him mention? A new study from
the Mumble Dental Journal (sorry, I *tried* to remember the name)
which found high and potentially dangerous levels of Mercury in
the mouth from amalgam fillings. His conclusion? Don't go out
and have your fillings removed just yet, but this is something
that sure ought to be looked at ...

Well, Walt, looks like there is at least one reputable journal
for you to site... (Just think of this as another log on the
fire...)

While it may often sound like there is no creditable source for some
claims made by the Wholistic Medical crowd, it looks like the claims
per amalgam fillings have got some basis in 'reputable journals'.
