Subject: Triglyceride Levels and Coronary Disease I contacted the American Heart Association seeking data on the relationship between triglyceride levels and coronary disease mortality. They had none. What I am after is the kind of data that the AHA published on Cholesterol and Coronary Disease Deaths in a 12,000 person (men) study. I massaged the AHA data and found that the percentage of men who died of CD was related to cholesterol in the following way: %Dead = (4.5E-06)*(Cholesterol Level)^2.47 This power curve relation had a correlation coefficient of 0.94. What the curve and the AHA data told me was that the optimum effort would be to get my cholesterol level below 200. That seemed to be the knee in the curve. Since I am below 200 I'm not going to do anything special other than monitor it from exam to exam. What I would like is numbers on triglyceride levels so I can evaluate (statistically) what level is worth my effort to attain. Please and Thank You Bob Brown {...ihnp4!akgua!rjb}
