Does anyone out there know what mechanism causes some folks to have polychromatic eyes? By that term, I mean eyes that change color depending on things like the time of day, external light conditions, or mood; I do not mean eyes which display multiple shades of color constantly. I myself have such eyes; they vary through green, hazel, blue, and gray depending on how I'm feeling and whether its sunny or cloudy, day or night. [It's sort of like having a couple of mood rings on your face.] I would guess that this characteristic is inheirited through a recessive gene, but I do not know whether any of my (genetic) relatives have this trait. Please mail responses to me, and I will be happy to summarize. Thanks. -- Rich Kulawiec pucc-j!rsk or rsk@asc.purdue.edu
