I would like to hear from people who have experience with accutane (for acne) or who know about its side affects. I started taking it about four weeks ago, but my blood tests have indicated an increase in STPT (related to the liver). My dermatologist isn't certain what to do, but for now I am off medication as recommended by my GP. For the past few weeks I have enjoyed dry skin, hair that isn't oily and improvement in my acne. I'll be very disappointed to give this up. 1) Is 1 month of treatment ever enough to cause the acne to continue to improve? 2) Can the dosage be reduced with the acne continuing to improve and the STPT measurement returning to normal? 3) What exactly is STPT?
