[net.music] electronic music and long tracks...

dat@hpfcla.UUCP (dat) (03/23/85)

	I am interested in finding out what albums of the same
type (ie 'electronic/synthesizer') you'all would recommend to
me given that I have and rate the following albums of the same
genre;

	Kitaro, "Silk Road I" - excellent album.
		"Silk Road II" - even better!

	Jean Michel Jarre, "Equinox"	- mediocre to good
			   "Oxygene"	- better
		           "Les Chants Magnetique" - best Jarre

	Klaus Schulze, "Mirage - pretty good...dry

	Tangerine Dream, "Encore" - very good stuff...

	Vollenweider, "Caverna Magica" - excellent album
		      "Behind the Garden" - another excellent album.
		      "White <something>" - depressing after the first two.

	Steve Roach, "Structures from Silence" - super album (verry mellow)!

	Craig Leon, "Visiting" - I don't like this LP at all...

I've heard some Tomita stuff on the radio that sounds real good, but can
never seem to catch the names of either the tracks or the albums...

			Thanks!

ps: Long song wise;
	I am suprised that the following haven't been mentioned;
	   Alan Parsons	Project, try "I Robot", or
				     "Tales of Mystery and Imagination"
	   Andreas Vollenweider, "Caverna Magica"
	   Dan Fogelberg, "The Innocent Age"
	   Emerson, Lake and Palmer, "Pictures at an Exhibition"
	   Spyro Gyra, "Spyro Gyra" side one except for the last track...
	   Supertramp, "Crisis? What Crisis", "Supertramp", and
		       "Even in the Quietest Moments" all have good
			extended tracks (like 'Soap Box Opera', and
			'Fools Overture')
	   Rodger Hodgson, "In The Eye of the Storm" a terrific album
			from the 'leader' of Supertramp, try the title
			track as a good medium-long track.
