[net.graphics] Color Map Pseudo-Animation

    Color maps have been widely touted for their flexibility in choice
of colors.  They have also been pushed as a way to do animation
cheaply.
    Has anyone really ever used the pseudo-animation capabilities of
color maps in any capacity other than to show that it can be done?
