[net.graphics] Video/Film Equipment for Computer Animation

jod (02/15/83)

As I'm in process of establising a facility for computer animation, I'd
like to hear from anyone with experience with frame-at-a-time video
recorders and/or high-resolution (1024x1024) video. Also, if you have
had particularly good or bad experience with computer-controlled 16mm cameras
for this purpose, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

We want to produce animated, shaded images from time-dependent simulations;
our principal facilities at present are an FPS-164 array processor and
a color Apollo computational node; we're considering adding a small 32-bit
array processor for close-to-human-time generation of shaded images.
