At last I have a first-hand chance to see if usenet is actu-
ally useful. Graphics Interface is a conference held annually
during mid-Spring. The topics discussed at this conference in-
clude robotics, speech recognition, image processing, as well as
the standard areas of computer graphics and human-computer in-
teraction. This year's conference is being held in Edmonton,
Alberta, during the week of May 9-14. This is just background
information, not an advertisement.
I am currently organising GI's computer graphics film show,
and I would like to give any film-makers out there the opportuni-
ty to show their stuff. I am particularly interested in work
that has some "artistic" interest (with apologies to those fol-
lowing the net.graphics art discussion), though I'm flexible.
The work should involve the use of computer graphics or animation
in its creation. It needn't be brand-new nor terribly ambitious;
I've nothing against stuff that has appeared elsewhere. Anyone
who has completed (or is completing) a film and would to show it
should send me a mail message indicating its duration, the medium
(videotape or film and the type), and a synopsis of the work. If
you know someone who might be interested, please give her/him my
address below or perhaps act as an intermediary. May is not very
far away. Those interested must contact me asap, please. DO NOT
send me film without contacting me first, because I have yet to
work out the proper way to do this. Thanks.
