I am using an E&S PS300 connected to a VAX running UN*X and would like to send binary encoded vector lists to the PS300 in order to decrease the time required to download data to the PS300. I decided not to use the E&S supplied I/O package because it is written in FORTRAN and designed for VMS and am attempting to write my own binary encoding routine. However, I am having trouble writing a C routine to accomplish this. I can encode a vector list into the E&S specified binary format but can't get the PS300 to accept or display the data either in the 8-bit or the 6-bit mode. I am using P4.V01 software for both a 9600 baud interface and the DEC DMR-11 56 kbaud interface. If anyone has a binary encoding package or can offer insight in to this problem, I would appreciate hearing from you. I am also interested in hear- ing from others how they have interfaced their PS300s to machines running UN*X. If there is enough interest, responses will be posted on the net. thanks - Rab Hagy !{vax135, decvax}!brunix!rlh rlh.brown@udel-relay
